With antisemitism soaring worldwide, and confusion abounding regarding Judaism, Zionism and Israel, accurate and engaging communication about Jewish matters has never been more important.
Communications for Jewish Initiatives (CJI) supports academic, research and advocacy projects relating to Judaism, Zionism and Israel with strategic, impactful content that:
- advances awareness and understanding of established facts and truths,
- debunks false and discriminatory narratives and propaganda, and
- achieves meaningful action to support the rights and security of Jews and Israel.

Who leads CJI?
Sharon Aschaiek is a Jewish professional communicator based near Toronto, Canada. In practice as an independent since 2004, she specializes in writing clear, concise and compelling story-based content that informs, engages and inspires audiences. Sharon is the daughter of Israelis whose ancestors experienced anti-Jewish persecution in Poland, Iraq and Iran. She has family members in Israel, is an engaged parent and active community member, and advocates for Jewish rights, women’s rights and climate action.
The vicious terror attack perpetrated on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 and the resulting global spike in Jew-hatred forced Sharon for the first time to fully confront antisemitism and its threats to Jewish belonging, livelihoods and safety. In response, Sharon developed CJI as part of her tikkun olam mission to support advocacy communications aiming to defend and strengthen Judaism, Zionism and Israel.

As a skilled, experienced and compassionate communicator who embraces the Jewish humanitarian concept of Tikkun Olam, Sharon is deeply committed to using the power of storytelling to generate understanding and promote action for Jewish or Israeli research, academic and advocacy efforts.
